What are Violet Albums?
Violet Albums is a collection of four biographies told through painting, drawing, and video installation. They unfold the lives of memorable individuals who share hardships and tribulations yet abide by a life of faith and endurance that make their stories so inspirational. These albums teach us about the history, morals, and traditions of our elders in the community. Violet Albums introduces Reba Laney, Frank Jr. Brown, Floyd Ratliff, and Thelma Gourley.
